The Garden of Hope Community Development Corporation was officially organized in 2008. It is the realization of the vision of Dr. Kirk T. Houston, Pastor and founder of Gethsemane Community Fellowship Baptist Church. Created as a means to provide services, programs and resources to familities and individuals experiencing social, economic and moral deficiency, the Garden of Hope is both an extension of ministry and an individualized effort to provide the level of social service to families and individuals that extend beyond what the church traditionally offers in a standard faith setting.

Q. How long has Garden of Hope been in existence?
A. Late 2008
Q. Who are your clients / customers?
Faith-based organizations, churches, community, ex-offenders, Youth and young adults, kids of incarcerated parents, formerly incarcerated, those infected/affected by domestic violence and HIV/AIDS
A. Free workshops, trainings, awareness events, forums, summits
Q. What inspired you to start?
A. The Garden of Hope, Inc. was the realization of the vision of Dr. Kirk T. Houston, Sr. Pastor and Founder of Gethsemane Community Fellowship Baptist Church. The Garden of Hope, Inc. was created as a means to provide services, programs and resources to families and individuals experiencing social, economic and moral deficiencies. It was designed to be both an extension of ministry and an individualized effort providing the level of social service to families and individuals that extend beyond what the church traditionally offers in a standard faith setting.
Q. What are your needs for Garden of Hope,Inc at this time?
A. Volunteerism is always needed on a continuous basis along with partnerships and sponsorships from businesses, organizations, and individuals; tax deductible donations from interested persons or supporters.
Q. Do you offer volunteer opportunities? If so, in what areas?
A. Yes–volunteers are priceless within the Garden of Hope, Inc. ; Volunteer areas: domestic violence program, HIV/AIDS program, Keeping It Real:101 Youth Academy, Community Health Fair, Living Out Loud Domestic Violence Series Workshop; Popular Opinion Leaders HIV/AIDS Series Workshop; Leaders of Tomorrow Camp and Mentoring Program, Genderella Women and Girls Empowerment Programs, Financial Education Empowerment Training Workshops and general office administration duties
